Musōka Design Studio was founded to share a vision and promote a lifestyle that transcends personal ambition. The ethos behind Musōka is rooted in humility, kindness, and meticulous attention to detail. It considers everything and everyone - past, present, and future - recognizing that the choices we make, the knowledge we share, and the time we dedicate are crucial. Musōka Design Studio is driven by the belief that we must collectively push boundaries in selfless ways to ensure that all beings - human and non-human - can live happily and freely.

We are here to demonstrate how our built environments can foster this vision and make it a reality.

Welcome to Musōka Design Studio.

Morgan Chesla

Founder & Principle Designer

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Design Institute of San Diego, Morgan brings years of hands-on experience shaped by her work with multiple designers in Southern California and her role as lead designer at a Seattle-based design-build firm.

Her approach blends timeless design principles with a thoughtful, imaginative spirit. She draws from natural materials, organic forms, and historical references -always favoring design that feels useful and built to last. Morgan believes that great spaces don't come from trends or excess - they come from curiosity, purpose, and a respect for what already exists.

Morgan’s perspective has been shaped by a life of movement and exploration: from the farms of small-town Ohio, to the coasts of Southern California, to her current home in mountains of the Pacific Northwest. Along the way, her love for culture and travel has played a central role in how she sees the world. She values design as a way to preserve what matters, connect to the land, and celebrate the places we call home.

Michael Wolff

Project Coordinator

With over a decade of hands-on experience in construction, customer service, and project support, he brings a rare combination of technical know-how and people-first problem solving to every project.

Detail-oriented and deeply curious, Michael is a meticulous researcher who takes pride in doing things right the first time. He’s well-versed in the ins and outs of permitting, property logistics, and on-site coordination, helping clients navigate complex projects with clarity and confidence. Whether managing trades or troubleshooting behind the scenes, his steady presence keeps things moving forward smoothly and with care.

Creative and collaborative by nature, Michael is as much a builder as he is an artist. He cares deeply about quality and the people behind the work. Clients, contractors, and collaborators alike love working with him. Not just because he gets the job done right, but because he makes the process more enjoyable along the way.
